You are able to register your business as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) online.

Step 1. View the video that provides the steps to register a Domestic Limited Liability Company (DLLC). Select the VIDEO: FORMING A DOMESTIC LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY link.

Step 2. Access the New Mexico Secretary of State website by selecting the CORPORATIONS AND BUSINESS SERVICES link then select Create User Account to log in. NOTE: The account you create belongs to you, not the business.  After you have created a login account, select Corporations from the top horizontal menu, and select Domestic (NM) LLC Formation from the pull down menu.  Complete the online steps to form your LLC and pay the fee.

If you need information on the pros and cons of a limited liability company, consult a lawyer or a business authority. If you are undecided on the legal structure, revisit the planning process; select PLAN at the top of the web page and then select the CHOOSE A LEGAL STRUCTURE link.
